Please explain the *sticky* isn't this FAQ?

    Hello,
I am new here and trying to figure out how this site works, and there is a tremendous amount of info, and also info in re: to using this site that sort of conflicts--this section is called Bankruptcy FAQ--but there is a sticky that says do not ask questions--could you clarify what the FAQ section is actually for please?
There is so much info in trying to deal with BK as is, also difficult in learning how to navigate the site. Thanks!

This section contains questions that are asked so frequently that they have been put in this sub forum as reference. By not having new posts here it keeps it easy to sort through the infomation.

This sub forum is more for general questions and such. The other forums are the best place to ask questions you have since you can get into your own personal situation and get an answer more talored for your situation. Also we wouldn't want this section to be littered with 50 threads stateing "Should I file?", "Can I keep my house?", "Should I file a 7 or a 13?", "When should I stop using my cards?"

All very good questions however for example if you were to ask "Can I keep my house?" We would want to know what state you live in? do you have any equity? Are you current on payments? and would taylor our answer to your situtation. That sort of thing does not belong in the FAQ section.

However the answer in the FAQ section for "Can I keep my house?" Would be a generic answer such as - You may keep your home if you can protect your equity in your house with your state's exemptions and are current on payment. And then probably some discussion on reafirmation of the debt.
