Well, last I heard we may be looking at only $500.
The senate democratic leaders are looking to amend the relief plan which was submitted for consideration.
They want to include refunds/rebates for folks on Social Security. They also are seeking to tack the extension back on for unemployment benefits.
As others have said, this really could stall in the Senate, as posturing is already begun, and things could be tied up for a while as Senate members attempt to tack other items onto this plan.
(Not like most of them are depending on this refund, right??????)
sigh.....................

$500 is a joke too! Think about it, it so little & so fast for anyone to spend on anything. A gambler can loose $1000 in 5 minute, normal peope can have car breakdown cost in thousands, regular kids spend $600 on new XBOX game, so on, etc.
That rebate does not make a difference in quality of people's life or economy, it just a little Xmas gift$ from Santa in June! The whole economy already sucks big time anyway! People still default and broke to death. What a joke!

Right on. In the last two weeks I had to replace tires again,
($450) pay six month of car insurance up front since GMAC dropped me.($650) Plus make my other bills and now today my dog is very sick!!! My Grocery bills have doubled now due to me having to feed my mother and her dogs plus the prices of food are going up like crazy. Im also trying to muster up enough cash between my sisters and I to get mom a new roof since she used the money from her homeowners wind damage settlement, and found out mom had about $5,000 credit debt she cant pay!!!
On that note, I will take it if they send it. But its to late, just another government band aid. Things are so out of control no Dem or Repub can do much of anything as usual.
