How to determine the value of a camper?

My wife and I have a camper at a local campground.
We bought it a couple years ago for $3000 from a private owner.
(back when we actually had money)
Is there any way to find out what it is actually worth so I know if we need to try and protect it in the CH7 we will be going for?
    7/01/10 - filed!
    11/20/10 - discharged and closed

You might try ebay to get an idea of the value.
It's not what we have in our lives, but who we have in our lives and the quality of those relationships.

Try the NADA blue book. They value recreational vehicles as well as cars - http://www.nadaguides.com/SectionHom...=25&p=0&f=5602

Also do a Google search for your own year and model of camper You'll get a good assortment of hits online for folks selling their campers at various RV sites.

This is how we valued our pop-up camper when we filed.

I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.

      06/01/06 - Filed Ch 13
      06/28/06 - 341 Meeting
      07/18/06 - Confirmation Hearing - not confirmed, 3 objections
10/05/06 - Hearing to resolve 2 trustee objections
01/24/07 - Judge dismisses mortgage company objection
      09/27/07 - Confirmed at last!
06/10/11 - Trustee confirms all payments made
      08/10/11 - DISCHARGED !

      10/02/11 - CASE CLOSED
Countdown: 60 months paid, 0 months to go

        Thanks but no joy.
Nolo doesn't have the camper listed.
Neither does ebay, and no useful hits on google so far either.

Seems a 1988 Ventura by Cobra travel trailer isn't very popular.

Are you filing with a lawyer? Ours helped us with some valuation things (some that surprised me). We only valued our old 1983 S-10 truck at $100. I thought that was low until I got to the 341 and saw a lot of old beaters with that value. He put a $500 value on our pop-up camper after asking us a few questions about it.

The plan is to have a lawyer.
But I want to get everything pretty much lined up myself before we hire one.
That way I've got my head wrapped around most of it, and shouldn't need the lawyer for too much other than his insight into what will or will not fly with our trustee.

Better to have a plan (and a back-up plan) in place and not need it.
Than to need it and not have it.
