We just filed Chap 7 on 11/27. Large debt mostly business related with personal guarantees. We sold some exercise equipment and kitchen appliance a few months ago and socked the money away ($2,000) away for a trip we were taking. We didn't disclose this as "cash on hand" and now are afraid we might go to jail or worse!! We left for our trip a few days after we filed. Should we let our atty know about the cash or hope the trustee doesn't ask about the airline tickets we purchased. By the way, most of the trip was paid for by one of my husband's clients.

Tell your attorney and let HIM worry about it; if he has to he'll say something at the 341 when the trustee asks, "Is everything in these schedules true and correct to the best of your knowledge?" If the trustee doesn't like it he/she can request amended schedules. But that's a lot better than being found out hiding it...Nolo Press book on filing Chapter 7, there are others too. (I have no affiliation with Nolo Press; just a happy customer.) Best wishes to you!
