Can they do this? Can a creditor call my employer about my bk?

    They don't post them here, RickInMich Although it IS public record, there is absolutely no reason your former employer/creditor would have the right to contact your new employer. That's like your old credit card company doing so. What right would they have doing it? None - the same as your former employer. I also believe it is harassment. The best thing you could probably do is tell your Trustee. He would be interested in this situation I bet.

    I say send the letter. You can also call a local attorney and find out what they think if. A simple question over the phone, I have been lucky enough to get a question answered for free over the phone.

      I would like to add, it is public record that would probably have to be found through a search of your credit report or bankruptcy court search. Your current employer may not search very often and if you know they do, tell them before they find it.
