    Nissan didn't reaffirm our lease

Nissan didn't reaffirm our lease on our vehicle. We are about 1.5 yrs into a 4 yr lease. They are reporting the account closed on our credit reports too. We have to call their phone number and make a payment over the phone because they will not send us a statement.
Since they are reporting the account as closed on all 3 credit reports: would they be able to report a voluntary repo if I someday decided to return the vehicle to them before the lease is expired?

We have intentions on keeping the vehicle, but I'm curious what they could or could not do if I decided not to keep it.

PS - Countrywide still doesn't reaffirm either. I have a first and second mortgage with them. The house currenty isn't worth what we owe...

If they do not reaffirm you can give it back free and clear at any time and they can never update your credit repor to say anything other than what it says now!

I would call and ask for their bankruptcy department and confirm that they are going to allow you to do a ride through...which means you get to keep the car without reafirming.

Does that work the same way with a mortgage too? They can never update the credit report with anything negative if you decide to just abandon the house after they didn't reaffirm?

Please remember, however, that the POSITIVE credit history of your payments will probably not be reported (without reaffirmation), either.

I understand this is very helpful as one is trying to rebuild their credit.
