    Paying secured loans post BK

My atty has decided to see if we can go the non-reaffirmation route with my mortgage and car loan. I could care less about my credit rating at this point in my life and I'm more concerned with protecting myself should something else tragic happen.

So, without a reaff. I'm a little concerned now about making payments to these two creditors. I normally pay my mortgage by the date that says, "payment will be late after XX/XX/XXX." It's actually due on the 1st but I rarely pay it by this date. Not that I can't, this is just how I've set up my bills according to when I get paid. The payment has never been late but now I'm a little concerned if I don't pay it by the DUE date which is the 1st of every month. Is paying by the 1st something that I should start to do regularly? Or can I continue to pay by the 15th or so of each month so long as the payment is in by the "you must pay by XX date or it's late" date on the bill?

(I pay through my banks online bill pay system if that makes a difference at all.)

I'd err on the side of caution and pay by the due date.

I'll chime in and say that it's very important to pay by the due date.

I agree that paying by the 1st of the month is best. On the other hand, if you're worried about it, you can always contact the BK department of the lender and ask this question. Once you've filed for BK, you'll need to speak with this department anyways. The local branches and/or customer service may not be able to assist you.
