How'd you celebrate Your BK closing and looking back

How did you celebrate your discharge? How did you celebrate when your case was finally closed?

*Did any of you celebrate you discharge and then it ended up not getting closed?

LOOKING BACK, AT LEAST A YEAR LATER, ANY OBSERVATIONS, SUGGESTIONS, OR TIPS?

    THANKS.

I've been discharged since last Jan 26th 2007 to be exact, I'm still waiting for the actual CLOSING. I emailed my lawyer and hopefully they will get on this to get this case CLOSED !

    Best of Luck to you!

I've celebrate by gambling within my means !

I didn't really celebrate. Didn't really feel the need/want. For me it was more like I had to walk with all this weight on my back for miles while the bankruptcy was taking place. Then come discharge and closing, the weight was lifted. I celebrated by relaxing. LOL But - wait! Not so fast, I pulled my credit report and got slapped in the face with all kinds of mistakes. My new burden. hehehe. Working on it... slowly.

So far my Equifax went from 550 to 603 (possibly higher now)
my Experien went from 549 to 635
my TransUnion went from 548 to 535 (waiting on final dispute results, though)

We are nearly a year out of discharge (1 year on 12/6)....we didn't celebrate becuase we were trying to get reaff paperwork done with our mortgage company. It was more like a yeah, well that is nice, how much time did they grant the extension for.

We are a few weeks out of closing and again we didn't celebrate, when I discovered that on Pacer and told DH....he just replied Finally.

The whole process was not something that we ever felt was worth celebrating....we really didn't want to have to go through it. We just feel blessed to have come out of it with our house (no reaff signed but a year later no problem) and with our cars.

I celebrated big time the day I received my discharge in the mail. That day was the same day in 2004 when the Boston Red Sox won their first World Series after 86 years

I opened a new checking account and spitted on Chex system, and then I opened an investment account. And got back into business...

We had a steak dinner and a bottle of wine (paid cash of course) then immediately got back on our budget!
