    Tyler,

I very rarely give advice as these good folks know, but I urge you to PLEASE consider BK as an absolute last resort! I know how hopeless you must feel in your situation, but you really do have your whole life ahead of you. I encourage you to take the $300.00 per month you have after you pay bills and attack that debt.

About higher education . . . If you REALLY want to do it, then seriously explore the possibility. Junior college, trade shools, or a university. It doesn't cost anything to call one of the counselors, but you have to ask.

I applaud you for recognizing your mistakes in money managment and encourage you to keep hanging in there. We ALL make mistakes. Don't beat yourself up and whatever you do don't give up.

I'm 43 and a mother to an 18 year-old son whom I love more than life itself so forgive me if this post seems overly maternal. I don't know you, but I do want the best for you.

Feel free to PM me anytime and God bless. You CAN get out of this.

    All the best,
    jane

Okay I'm going to try this. My GF doesn't not want to move out of the shit hole economy. I do not wish to go to college. So my plan is to get a license selling life insurance and financial products ( because that's what I love) and get hired at a company. I will then work my ass off to get as much commission as humanly possible. Anyone have any advice on that?

I don't have advice on this per se, but I would like to encourage you to get this training if you love doing this sort of work. Good luck!

This is the way of life for pretty much most people.

I enjoyed the last post. The case of going one month to another is very common. It doesn't matter whether one owns an old vehicle with high miles or a new mercedes. It is only an economy of scale.

Some of the bigger insurance agencies like Liberty National offer a salary while training and also insurance benefits. They will help train you while you are studying for your test and you dont have to have your insurance license right away

All very good advice here. I strongly agree that BK should be your last resort. If you have the income to pay off all your debt within four years then BK shouldn't even be a consideration.
BK can really help people who are in real financial disaster. However, some people just use BK as the easy way out and eventually end up right back where they started.
I urge you to make this situation your defining moment and let it motivate you to pay off your debt and stay out of it for good.
                Good Luck
                Daniel
