I'm at the same place. BOA didn't close my account in time as I requested and ALL of the auto debits hit and I got fees on top of them. Next payday, same thing, but at least they returned the debits to the payday places. So now I have almost $1000 overdraft balance and the nasty payday places calling me a hundred times a day... filing tomorrow!!!!

Did you know payday loans are illegal in some states?

Are you one of them? I know for sure, Texas, New York and
      Georgia are 3 of them.

There is a usary cap on them and no preditory lending is allowed.

I reside in Texas, have for all of my years. Payday loans are NOT illegal in this state. There are several payday loan companies in the town I live in. Most are meant for only short term use and have low interest rates. I have never used one nor do I ever intend to, but they are not illegal in this state.

One of the moderators should post a sticky on "Pay Day Loans", with:

DO NOT USE - EVER! in big bold letters. If you have one, get out now!
