Think I might Love Wells FArgo

Every year about this time when we were with WaMu, we would get about a 100.00 escrow refund, and notice that our payment was going up again, usually by about $10/mo. I could never understand why they didn't just keep the escrow refund and not raise my payments.

Well, since WellsFargo bought out WaMu, I have wondered....... Got the notice today that my mortgage payment is actually going DOWN by $18 a month. And we got an escrow refund of $400. Seems last year when WaMu figured, they figured WAY wrong somewhere. So I am excited to see what WF is like when we get out of BK. They have been nice so far, for sure.

Took the girls to Wallyworld for socks and undies, and new shoes for the oldest. Have already gotten most all of their other clothes at Goodwill, so this was more than enough to finish their shopping. The rest will go for property taxes due by October.

Oh no! Wells Fargo bought out WaMu! S*%t! I just closed my Wells Fargo account because of the b.s. they pulled, and went to Wamu!

I guess the bottom line is, they pretty much ALL suck, these days.

The only one that I've had only good experiences with so far is Bank of Internet. But eventually they'll no doubt pull some kind of crap, as well. (The only problem with Bank of Internet is that you cannot make deposits in a local branch or local atm because there are no local branches. SO you have to mail all deposits in an envelope - not good if you need to cover a check quickly.) (However they did give me a $1000 line of overbalance protection with no fees for using it which kinda makes up for not being able to make a quick deposit. However, I wonder if they won't do away with that line of credit after I file bankruptcy...?)

Wells Fargo bought out WaMu around 6 months ago. But I think it is just their home mortgage department that was bought out. Haven't heard anything about banking.

I gave up on Norwest and Wells Fargo long ago. I have used credit unions exclusively for several years.

I signed up with Digital Credit Union (www.dcu.org) because they have the best no-fee secured credit card of anyone, and I'll need something after I file to be able to travel and take care of expenses for work. (I need to charge and get reimbursed later.)

I signed up knowing that I'd need to do everything through the mail. What I've found is that I can transfer money in to and out of my account to other banks and it has been super handy. Inbound transfers are free and outbound are $2. They also have bill payment service for free including the ability to generate and mail checks to anyone not already setup for e-statements. I even paid myself to see how it worked! I got a check in the mail a day earlier than promised.

They've also got a deal regarding ATM transactions where they can be free nation wide -- I haven't tried any of these yet.

The best suprise came long after I had opened my account. Through a network of cooperating credit unions, I can go to one of several member credit unions and do transactions in person as if I was at my own bank. It almost sounds too good to be true!

Pretty much anyone can join too.
Discharged November 2008 100 days after filing no-asset Chapter 7. We intended to let a two-year-old vehicle go back to the bank and reaffirm an inexpensive ten-year-old SUV and our home mortgage. In the end we surrendered ALL of our vehicles and reaffirmed NOTHING. We'll "ride through" our mortgage after the court ruled it an undue hardship.

I know others have had problems with wells fargo, but I've been with them for 15 years. Had no problems with them throughout my bankruptcy. I guess everyones experiences are a little different. I also have my mortage with them and also really enjoyed my escrow overage check and reduced payment last year. I think our insurance was less. Hope that won't go back up due to Bk.

Norwest was my original mortgage co and then it became Wells Fargo. My payments went up every year because their escrow was too high and incorrect. Got a nice refund when I refi'd with Chase. Good Luck with Wells Fargo.

well, my hope and plan and dream is to chip that mortgage down as soon as we are out of BK. I will come out sometime in the next 6 mo, and the only thing we will owe, aside from the routine bills, will be the remainder of
my student loan and mortgage. I plan to first knock out the student loan balance, then tackle the mortgage.

So far we have had good luck with Wells Fargo compared to when our mortgage was with Washington Mutual. WaMu had some dirty dealings going on behind the door. Wells Fargo at least allows me to pay in person, so I have a receipt. WaMu had our mortgage, my brothers, and my sisters....now isn't it odd that three family members with different names, living in three different locations would all have double dipping (paying ins or taxes twice), payments sent to the wrong ins. companies, another persons taxes being included on your account, and on and on. I wonder if it was happening continuously with us and at least we were catching the problems, how many people was it happening to and they were catching the problems because they don't pay attention to their statements and such. We continue to keep our fingers crossed with WF and hope at least until we can refi or find another solution that things continue smoothly.
