    I would like to file in the next two weeks-there is a chance I could get a 5k bonus in December-than what would happen?

        If you file well before you get the bonus, then nothing will happen.

          and if you are worried about it could your employer hold your bonus until at least after you 341 meeting?

              It is likely as long as you file in August that if your case is a simple straightforward chapter 7 with no assets you would be discharged in November.
              May 31st, 2007: Petition Filed by my lawyer
              July 2nd, 2007: 341 Meeting Held
              September 4th, 2007: Discharged and Closed.
