    Keeping Track

Does anyone think Quicken is worth getting to keep track of money/budget?

I've tried excel spreadsheets and I don't know enough to be able to make excel work for me in this way.

Yes, Quiken or MS Money are good...there is somewhat of a learning curve, but once your figure it out, you will wonder how you ever got along with out it.

I use Quicken 2007 to keep all our financial records and do our budgeting - I really like it! The Help files are good if you have questions about how things work - I've been able to figure out what I needed to do that way. I created my own Excel spreadsheets to track finances before I started to use Quicken - Quicken is a 1000 times better!

As HHM said, Microsoft Money is a very good personal finances program too.

We use Microsoft Money. It was the ticket to getting my husband to balance the checkbook and keep track of our spending. He's kinda a computer geek. It works great for us. We can even enter our budget and it will tell us where our spending doesn't match our budget.

I use Money, but I have a hard time using it to see into the future. So, I think I'm going back to an excell speadsheet for budgeting and I'll use Money for keeping track of account balances and bills.
