It's been 2 years, they still have not taken possession, what now?

I am writing this for a friend who doesn't know how/won't try to figure out how to solve this problem, so I thank you on his behalf and apologize for my lack of detail....but,

He listed a non-titled Off Highway Vehicle as an asset which the trustee was supposed to take possession of. It has been in storage at a friends house (not hidden, the trustee has the address) for 2+ years now. He is wanting to sell the vehicle but is paranoid that it might come back on him.

Is there anything that he can do? Is there a legal time limit on this sort of thing, or is a person supposed to hold onto the property indefinitely?

I have suggested that the owner of the property at which the vehicle is being stored, file it an abandoned vehicle since he (property owner) does not, in fact, know who the owner is. Or, one other thing that may work is for the property owner to write a letter to my friend requesting storage fees that would then, somehow, be forwarded to the trustee. Upon receiving no response, the property owner would then file for ownership (don't know how yet).

I do not know what kind of BK my friend filed, but I do know that it is in Colorado if that makes any difference

Please, any help is greatly appreciated!

The safest bet would be to contact the BK court clerk or check pacer and see if there is anything about it on his case. Did your friend move since the BK? Would the trustee have been able to find him?

Yes, he has moved but has repeatedly tried to get an answer out of his attorney without success. I will tell him, and then probably end up doing it for him, about the pacer... Is that something that anyone (meaning me) can get or does it have to be someone involved in the case?

If I get a copy of that, would there be any way for his friend to collect a storage fee for the time between the settlement and now?

Thank you very much for the quick reply!
