An unusual dilemma..I was to go a NASCAR race in August and go camping for 3 days..now with an unexpected car expense today, I dont think I can afford it..what do I tell them..what would be a good excuse..I can't let anyone know I will be filing right now..it would be too embarassing..not even my family..my friends would kill me if I didn't go..

Tell them the truth, sorta. That you had some unexpected car repairs come up that cost quite a bit. It put a significant dent in your "Weekend Fun Money" acct. You really hate to but you're gonna have to bow out of this year's trip with the gang.
But you'll be watching for them on TV and lifting a brewsky in their honor.

Are you heading to Bristol LOL my home town. I try to leave that weekend. I would just tell the friends that things are going to be very tight. I know the campgrounds around here cost a pretty penny to stay in . Then you got parking cost. I would just be honest and tell them that I just can't swing it this year. I would also sell those tickets you could get a pretty penny for them. The race is always sold out and people dying to get in.
