    offered to pay 30% of 14k and GE closes my account

    and not pursue further action.......seems tempting but even so i have no money.

    If the GE thing were the only debt you owed, it would be tempting. But if this offer won't fix your problems, then it's not even worth considering.

      I agree with Sinking - what's the point in putting what, $4200, towards a debt when all it will really do is buy you a little time in the overall scheme of things? We did that, and totally regret it!

        And remember, you'll end up owing income taxes on the $10k or so that they write off.
