One problem with throwing the gas bill into bk is, what comes post bk. If it's a private company, they may deny you service post bk. if it's a public utility, look for large deposit upfront before any future deliveries.

I don't see a large issue myself. You won't be filing until after your medical procedures are done in Dec. You buy the wood in the fall. Plenty of time to let the 70 day clock run.

I see. I did not consider that loose end of a large deposit later with the gas co. I think you are correct, keepmine. It is better to get the cash advance for the firewood in Sept as usual, let the clock run while I am seeing Doctors. That way I will have my heat bill covered for the winter and be able to file in Jan without getting into a negative relationship with the gas company during winter and in spring... and have to wait until much later when the cold weather breaks to file the utility.

January does look like the best time to do this while getting healthy again and keeping my finger crossed for no farther medical complications - getting released by December.
Thanks again. It is much appreciated.

I did not mean to hijack your thread, lefty. I had the same question, different circumstance. I hope you do not mind. I think I got mine sorted out and I hope you do as well.

No problem. I was wondering why this thread came back to life? I have moved on, but I'm asking different questions now.
