urgent help needed: need access to turbotax 2006 home + business with state

Hello all - I'm not a regular poster, but I read all the time. This is super embarassing (you'll find out just how embarassing if you can help me), but I need access to turbotax home + business with state. My 341 is on Tuesday, and apparently I didn't properly print out my returns. I have paper copies and access to my turbotax file. However, the paper copies and the software are currently 3000 miles away in a state that I'll be moving to as soon as my 341 is done. We had the chance to move our stuff early at a great savings, so off it all went after 14 hours straight spent packing in a rush. Anyhow, I need PDF copies of my returns. If you don't know how to do that, I can walk you through it.

If you can assist me I would greatly appreciate it. Feel free to PM or reply to this thread.

    Thanks so much.

If you efiled thru Turbo Tax online, you may be able to access your filed taxes there.

We use Turbo Tax online every year. When I was gathering our taxes for our attny, I couldn't find one year's printed copy. Went to Turbo Tax online and there it was.

Maybe you can try that??!! Sure hope so!!
    Filed Ch 7 - 09/06
    Discharged - 12/2006
Officially Declared No Asset - 03/2007
    Closed - 04/2007

I am not an attorney. My comments are based on personal experience and research. Always consult an attorney in your area to address concerns related to your particular situation.

SF - I do the same thing with the taxes. I have a question though. I lost one years printed return where I attached all the W2 forms, bank and mortgage interest statements... Do you think it's okay to just print out the return and submit it without the other forms attached. Or do I need to get on top of this and figure out how to get copies of all those other forms that go along with the return?
11/14/07 -filed C7 12/04/07 -case pulled for random audit.12/18/07 -341 held: Asset case due to engagement ring & tax return.02/19/08 - US trustee files motion to extend. 04/02/08- changed back to NO ASSET! I get my ring back and get to keep my tax return! :clapping: 04/28/08 -DISCHARGED!!! :yahoo::yahoo: 05/07/08 - CLOSED!!!

The Court is really only interested in seeing the last 2 years' taxes prior to filing. That's what HAS to be submitted to the Trustee with your BK paperwork. I **think** as long as you have supporting documentation for those 2 years, you'd probably be fine.

Just the printed copy of your filed taxes from a previous year might be all that's needed. If you're missing income statements from before the most recent 2 years, and you need them, I'm sure your attny will let you know.

We had the same problem. We had the taxes, except the one year. I guess I musta used it for something and didn't put it back in the file. And our income statements were not attached to any of the years. It took a while of searching to get them all together. Luckily, we were able to print out the one year's return off Turbo Tax, and I did eventually find all our income statements.

        BLECH!!

Our attorney told us he just needed the W2s for last year, since we also couldn't find out previous W2s (but had the last four years' tax returns, as required). He just estimated how much we each made, since our total was on the tax return itself. It might depend on the attorney, trustee, and/or state you are in - and maybe if you are ch 7 or 13? We are filing 13 in CA.

My big problem is that the returns were always filed joint with my ex. There is no way I can get him to help me out with anything - we barely speak now. If I had to get the W2s for him, I don't even know if I could. If I remember correctly, it's for 2004 so I probably shouldn't worry too much seeing as it's not from the prior 2 years. I think I'll just print out the return and hope for the best and then explain the situation to the trustee re: the W2s if it does arise.

no, these would be my 2006 returns.

update: found a tax person to email my returns to me. it wasn't a huge deal, but i didn't want any snags through a seriously unfortunate series of events, my attorney had an outdated copy of my returns, and my paper copies went on the truck instead of staying in the house, and my online backup mysteriously did not have pdfs of the actual returns. but i did have those .tax files

i did have a copy of the money orders for my tax payments (over 2k) sent in right before i filed. but not the returns. that's ok. i have everything now, and the important thing is that there isn't anything for the trustee to get his hands on!
