I Just Gotta Ask

I just gotta ask, I have been discharged since January 07'. Trustee has finally filed a No Distribution Report/No Assets since March 07'. Now I'm just awaitin' the CLOSING.

First I obtained a new credit card in March of 06' for $10,000.
I transferred that credit amount to pay off another credit card.
I wiped out the whole line of credit the next month (April 06'.)
A good chunk were 3 cash advances of $2000 a piece in 2 days at a casino (total $6000 in only 2 days).

I filed BK Ch13 in JULY.
No objections except to my plan, by the Trustee.
I converted to Ch7 in October.
No objections, not a peep from the creditors.

Finally, DISCHARGED Jan 07'.

They (the creditors) can't come after me for those cash advances, riiight ???

I just need peace of mind about this after reading and reading and reading about big cash advances before one files. I guess I'm feeling "too good to be true!" that my debt is really wiped out and I got a fresh start !

Oh no, I would never question why to my lawyer or the Trustee they had their chance to ask. My lawyer new from the beginning the whole schamoga but he was cool calm and collected about it. He was a great lawyer, just asking what others may think from this site.

You know this how? CMIYC has made it clear from day one, they have a gambling addiction, and we are here to support each other not knock each other down. They have also stated they are staying away from gambling as best they can. I supose in your theory, you should be staying completely out of stores if you are in the bk process due to cc debt. Or do you run to the nearest wal-mart and make a joke of it? Or even better did you have medical problems....geeze I hope you are running to the nearest hospital.....

See Frank it's not exactly fun when one passes judgement on you without knowledge. Learn to be a little more human. We are all in the same boat, it would just be nice not to throw the oars at one another.

I'm just enjoying my life and hope to stay out of debt. No more cc's for me. Just back to work doing 80 hours overtime (like another full time job). BUT way much more pay.

I admit I'm an addict, and refuse to get help. GA I know is not for me when I've got a very supportive partner.

Gambling was never an issue with the lawyer/trustee/judge. It was never brought up? The trustee was too busy concentrating on getting the judge to make the decision of getting me to pay $800 a month. The judge gave me a choice: quit one of my jobs (at least for awhile) and convert to ch7 and pay nothing OR pay $800 a month for the next 5 years. HAH, you do the math.

Even though I really did quit one of my jobs (my day job) and kept my nite job. I feel like I never quit as I continue to pull in 30-60-80 hours overtime for the past couple months.

The end of this month I worked 100 hours OT.

hi,hope things workout great and i'm sure they we rooting for you.You made me reflect looking at your location,fallschurch.Dad was in air force,We lived on monticello dr. off graham rd. dad didn't care for winter time there.but as kids it was fun. going down some of lil steep hills covered in snow.since we didn't have a sled,we made one,took the metal trash can lid,broke off the handle,turn the lid upside,jump on hill and hold on.well,anyhow later on dad takes the trash out and no lid dad,i don't know where the lid went to.Of course,he found out and i felt his wrath.well thanks for the time,i' sure things will work keep your head up.

We had plastic trash lids, worked just as well. THOSE HILLS dont look so BIG anymore! LOL .. MEMORIES !

My Mom and I are BOTH gambling idiots! She won't get help and I stay far far away from the boat (which is what we have around here), a gambling boat. It's a very hard addiction to live with in peace. If you can afford to lose money, no harm done, but if you can't, well.............. a lot of harm can be done.

Just be safe and stay smart CMIYC. My husband lets me go once a year to a casino, that's it and man do I have fun!
