    Error On Federal Taxes

I recently noticed that for the past several years that the person who completed our taxes entered a higher amount in the section where you put cash contributions. I never even thought to review as I just assumed that what he entered was accurate. Now that I am contemplating filing BK I am afraid that this will affect me negatively. Based on what was entered we were paying around $600/month in contributions. That is no where near the amount of contributions that we made. I can easily see the attorney saying "well if you could pay $600 towards charity then you shouldn't have to file BK". But that isn't the case. If this gets found out we could be screwed in all areas. I'm furious at myself for not reviewing the tax returns...I just assumed that the info entered was correct...I knew that we would get a decent return because I have 3 young children and I'm still paying daycare and aftercare for 2 of them...but it didn't dawn on me that we probably got an extra $2,000 due to the cash contribution amount that was entered. Should I try to find another way to "fix" my financial burdens so that this entire BK process doesn't blow up in my face? Should I pack my bags and hit the high road?

Here's a link to the IRS with info about how to amend your past taxes:

At least you can see where you'd stand.

I am not an attorney. My comments are based on personal experience and research. Always consult an attorney in your area to address concerns related to your particular situation.

$600 a month in contributions? WHYYY, is it worth to GIVE your money away? Especially THAT much. What I wouldn't do for $600 bucks RIGHT NOW !
Guess I never understood why people can give their money away, BUT WHO AM I TO TALK as I can gamble that much in an HOUR!
