"I think the average person is alot further into debt and a lot more like "us" then most people realize."

That pretty much sums it up right there. I was shocked to find my brother buried under cc debt to the point of almost losing his home, he then filed ch 13. Then imagine my suprise a few years and many medical and other emergencies later....we were at that same level of cc debt. My sister is buried deep as well. We were just talking the other day and I had made the comment of it's literally just like that "I'm in debt up to my eyeballs" commercial mixed with a little bit of the Fight Club movie..."The one rule about fight club, you don't talk about fight club." Only it's debt instead of a club. People look like the Cleavers from a distance, they have it all, nice home, nice car, great kids, lots of stuff....but behind closed doors they are in it up to their eyeballs. This experience has seriously changed my whole outlook on life, and what's most important. I would much rather stay here in our small cramped home, drive my older car, and live my life freely than ever being a slave to debt especially the vultures of the cc industry ever again.

There are a BUNCH of people who DON'T EVEN REALIZE the financial situation they are really in...... Many cannot tell you how much they owe, because they have never sit down and figuired it up..... They are content on making the payments on the cc if they can each month.....

Many are up to their eyeballs in student loans also..... and those are not dischargable under bankruptcy....

If folks would get more involved in their spending habits as they do their "other habits"...... they would see the debt building each month..... and realize they have a serious problem coming their way......

Bankruptcy is a ticket out of debt................... but it won't cure how we make the debts in the future.... We have to change our habits and learn our lessons well......

My suggestions are from "personal experience" and research only. Do not consider this as legal advice. Each bankruptcy case is different.
