Walked in the door to be absolutely BOMBARDED with questions about bankruptcy. Pratically everyone knows we filed, I made no secret of it( and besides, the local paper prints the filings every Monday anyway). Seems one of our doctors filed a ch 7 and it was in the paper yesterday. So everyone was asking me what exactly ch 7 means. I was able to educate some of them that didn't know the difference between 7 and 13.

Interesting that one of your doctors could file Ch 7. Wonder how he/she was able to do that with a physician's usually way-above-median income?Last edited by lrprn; 02-13-2007, 08:20 PM.I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.

There's a commercial running on TV where this guy is discussing his abundant lifestyle, and answers the question "How do I do it?" with a matter-of-fact statement..."I'm in debt up to my eyeballs!"
Could go for the doctor, I guess. Or maybe, he/she is trying to take advantage of the law to set themselves up for some 'coming' change in life that would be greatly beneficial to have a clean slate?
I previously mentioned that when I plead my case to the F&I mgr at a car dealership, he told me that he too was bk. Had been with a very large dealership in the western US making "mid 6-figures", owned 3 homes , boats, and lots of stuff. Crash! Now making $30k, and was driving a Ford Focus. A healthy cash flow does not keep one immune from becoming bankrupt.

All it takes is "one" financial disaster to absolutely destroy your lifestyle, etc..... Whether a every day Joe or a professional.....
Bankrupty no longer has the stigma of "trying to beat the system". There are many folks who have had to file bankruptcy who never dreamed they would have too........
And I'm sure there are many who "need to file" and won't because of "society labeling" - but will in the end loose everything anyways after the foreclosures, lawsuits, etc......
It is better to file bankruptcy and solve the problems an easier way....... than NOT and fight everyone on your way down to the pits.............
No one wants to file bankruptcy, but I'm sure there are a few that abuse the system, just like anything else.......
If you know someone that is contemplating filing bankruptcy or you know they are in serious financial situations--- HELP THEM if you yourself have already been there and done it......
Offer suggestions, point them in the "right direction"...... let them know they have options avaiable to them...... Let them know they are not alone, it happens to everyone...............
They need never know that you filed unless you tell them.....Minny
"It's amazing the paths that our feet sometimes follow in life".
My suggestions are from "personal experience" and research only. Do not consider this as legal advice. Each bankruptcy case is different.
