Can someone tell me which 'court' a creditor sues for debt?

I'm just wondering if a creditor sues me for a debt which court do they go thru? Is it Civil court? Can I look up on Pacer and see if anyone has filed suit against me?
    Thanks for any help.

Pacer is primarily for federal use. A creditor would have to sue you in your local county/circuit court. Depending on the nature (criminal vs. civil) it could be a state court, but likely not. Start there.

It'll be in your local court or, if you've lived in another city or state, they may try and sneak in a default judgment in another venue.
Contact both your district and circuit court clerks office{s} and see if there is a case file. Some counties have this info online.
      Pacer is strictly federal.

If you are sued you will get a summons notifying you of the pending action and also an opportunity to answer the complaint. It shouldn't really sneak up on you unless you are hiding out and dodging creditors...

Nah.I wouldn't do that no_it_all. That debt was discharged in my BK and I'm just waiting to see if they sue me anyways.
