    Professional job after BK?

Does anyone here have experience or know of anyone who has tried to get a professional position or a finance position with an employer such as a bank post BK? I will have my bachelor's in finance soon and filed BK a little over two years ago. Any insight would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I got a job with a BANK but had filed Ch 7 like 10 years prior to getting this job. You figure its worth a shot if you got the opportunity you have nothing to lose but TRY!

    Good Luck, Catchmeifyoucan

Once the bk falls off your cr's, it should have no effect whatsoever. Until then, within 7-10 years, it might.

My advice in the first interview is to disclose it. There in not ten year limit on reporting it for employment purposes. Their security check would also turn it up because public records never go away.

I have to disagree, you are under no obligation to disclose such facts to a potential employer and it is certainly not something you should volunteer.

For the most part, BK does not effect employment (that is more over-blown propaganda by credit card companies than actual fact).

Only if the job pays at least $75,000 per year.

The limitation on time also doesn't apply to reports in connection with applications of credit or life insurance of $150,000 or more.

I have a few family members who work for financial institutions and they say that not only is a credit bureau routinely pulled before an interview, but some institutions pull bureaus periodicaly to keep tabs on employees. What they do with this information - I do not know because these people did not have financial difficulties to be looked at, but they did know _absolutely_ for sure that the information is routinely accessed.
