Sent trustee check regarding 2000 4Runner SUV

...I have sent my trustee a check in the amount of $1,456.80 in order to keep my 4Runner and close my case.

I sent it return receipt & registered, like all trustee mail should be...

This should be it for me and my case should be closed once this check is received....just curiously I wonder...where does that $ really go???

Is the trustee going on a cruise or perhaps out to dinner at Berns Steakhouse in Tampa???

I have done everything asked of me!

IIRC, about $364 of the total, goes to the trustee.

GOD LOVE YOU!!!! Hey, someone sooner or later, will probably encounter this type of problem!!!

And hopefully, they might gain something from some of my posts, right? Can I really be the only idiot who had a paid off vehicle that they wanted to keep and had to pay to keep???? LOL!!!!!

I know that you were discharged a year ago and closing has been waiting for resolution of the vehicle issue. I was wondering if the vehicle issue began before discharge? Or was it after discharge but before closing?
I have an old S-10 pickup I want to sell. I should have my discharge at the end of the month. I'm guessing from your situation that I should wait to sell the thing untill after closing. But I was just wondering. The S-10 is in horrible shape but has 4 wheel drive. I want to sell it while the snow still flies or I may never be able to get rid of it at a decent price.

The vehicle issue began at the 341 when trustee saw that I owned it free & clear except for a lien on title from my mother. That made my case an asset case since it was the only thing that I owned.

Is your bk an asset case? what ch. are you in? How old is the truck & is it covered in your exemptions? Was it mentioned at your 341?

Depending on what exemptions for vehicles in your state...they might not even care about it so it would be totally up to you.

I do still have some assets to list on my schedule as exempt (such as tax return and post petition wages). But everything I own should be exempt making it a no asset case. We only valued the truck at $100 in our schedules. I was a little worried about that, but no one mentioned it at the 341. I noticed other had valued vehicles the same while we listened to other 341s waiting our turn. I guess that is a standard value in our area for a vehicle such as this.

I'm glad to hear I don't have to wait for closing, only discharge. Since our trustee wants to see our tax return, I'm guessing closing might be a while. I'll plan to advertise it next month. I'm hoping to get $500 to $750 from it, but that will only happen if I advertise it soon, as it is 4WD.

I figure it will be okay to advertise it at a higher price than I valued it at in my schedules since I have fixed the clutch and the door latch since filing. It's ugly and it's small but it actually runs good. Engine only has 30,000 miles. Unfortunatelly the body has 230,000 miles.
