    Discharged!!!

yay! I happened to be up... 3:00am... I had checked pacer earlier today... and nothing... figured, "what the hell, it's after midnight, I'll check again".... and BINGO! discharge entered as of 1/12/07!

    And we're no-asset... so essentially, we're done!

I'll breathe just that much easier when the "closed" happens, but

    It's party time!!!!

It's been over a year... and I am SO happy to have this finally over with...

Some of you also know that I've had some job turmoil over the last couple of months... not being sure if I was going to get laid off or not...

Well, literally TODAY. (ok, well, the 11th, but still today to ME) I had it confirmed to me that I was going to be assigned to what is essentially my "dream job" where I'll work from home 95% of the time... making the same money... up in Albany, NY area... which is about the same cost of living... possibly a bit cheaper... My wife and kids are thrilled about the job... now I get to tell them about this. We even have 2-3 months before we have to move... so who knows? We may even be able to buy a house right off!

    Life is good!

Thats great LostOne0069! Very happy for you! You will feel even better once your case is closed. Good luck with the move. I actually live in the Albany area myself. Its not to bad. Albanys not that great but there is alot of cities outside of Albany. The best school districts are the Colonie and Latham areas. Not to much snow here yet which is very strange but the past few years have been like that. Good luck!

          Congrats, LostOne!!

You were a braver soul than we were to file Pro-Se.

I must admit, after seeing our Trustee in action,............ With some other attnys we consulted with,......... How stern the Trustee was and how they were stiff and cowered in his presence,.......... Where our attny was relaxed, lay-back, and they made inside, **wink, wink** jokes back and forth, the Trustee and our attny,......... We were both glad we retained the guy we did.

Job well done!! You deserve much praise and your hard earned "Dream Job" reward!!

I am so jealous that you get to Tele-Commute!! Talk about cutting the cost of going to work!!

Get up, grab a cup of Joe, sit down to your computer in your PJ's and there you are.

I am not an attorney. My comments are based on personal experience and research. Always consult an attorney in your area to address concerns related to your particular situation.

Everyone: Thanks for the congrats and well wishes! We really appreciate it!

Saucey: Thanks for the suggestions on the area up there... what is it about Albany you don't like? I've been up there a few times on business and so I know I really love the natural beauty I've seen in the surrounding areas... but I don't know much about the city itself.

lrpn: Thank you! I would say that our bk road has been long and hard... but honestly I've had it easy compared to many here. Once we fired our attorney, we had nothing but clear sailing!

whatamess: Thanks for the congrats, be strong and definitely don't lose this boards web address. The support and information I received here were absolutely intrumental to our success. Without the help of people on this site, I would never have known where to look... where to even BEGIN looking for what we needed to file or how to file ourselves. We'd probably have taken the advice of one of the attorneys that we talked to... which would have been a disaster! Always do your own research... even if you're going with an attorney... that way you catch any mistakes that they make... or at least you'll better know what is going on and it won't be such a scary "unkown"

SinkingFast: Brave? I don't know... self preservation is what we'd call it. It still annoys us to know that we paid an attorney $2000 and wasted several months just so he could give us bad advice and fill out forms incorrectly. I'm glad you got a good attorney and that everything is working out so well for you too. Attorneys aren't all bad... I just happened to get one that was. I'm still thinking I'll complain to the bar association about him once the close comes through.

            Thanks again everyone!
