    PACER vs DATA CTR

Okay, I gotta dumb question, I guess ... Is the Data Ctr only for Ch13 Filers? Is there a website like the Data Center for Ch7 BESIDES PACER, one you don't have to pay any money? I know 8 cent per page seems cheap, but DANG it can add up! And did you filers know they are raising the rates on PACER, I think 50 cents per page!

First, don't be so paranoid. You really don't need to be checking PACER all that often. Most debtors rarely get a PACER account. I suppose if curiosity gets the best of you, I would check pacer once every 2 weeks during the 60 day period between the 341 meeting and discharge.

I've been checking PACER daily, lately, and it's not costing me a penny. We're getting close to the end of our 60 days. If any Objections or Extensions pop up, I wanna know ASAP. Not like we can do anything about it, but at least we'd know.

CMIYC,............. All you need to do is remember the last date anything was posted on your case.

When you do the Query and pull up the main page of your case, if the last date of activity on your case hasn't changed, then nothing's happened. It's at the top, in the center of the page.

And the best part,............. It's free.

Can you give me a link to where you're doing this search?

            Go here:

            http://pacer.psc.uscourts.gov/psco/c...links.pl#BKCTS

Find your State and District of BK Court. Click on that link.

Then you'll get your Court's "Home Page". Click on the link at the top, in the Center of the page that says XYZ District Filing System.

Next page, you'll have to log in. ((If you don't already have a PACER User ID and password, you'll have to register first.))

After you log in, you'll get a new page with a seal of your BK Court in the Center of the page. At the top, is a tool bar. Click on Query.

Next page, enter your BK Case number and select "Run Query".

The Next page will be the main page for your BK Case. At the top, in the center is your case number, your name(s), your attny, the Trustee, the Judge, Chapter filed, and then there are a couple of dates. One is the date you filed. The other is the date of last filing on your case.

If the date of last filing does not change, there are no new events in your case. Nothing has happened. No need to look at your History/Documents or Docket Report. And there's no charge to check if nothing has changed.

              Thank you!

I was going in via a different link and it didn't give me the same query option... and thus I was spending the .08 each day to see if there was anything new.

              Thanks again!
