    bankruptcy listings online!

I was looking through a foreclosure website & hud home website today with my sister. There was a link for BR, so we clicked on. Sure enough if you go to county & or state all the ch 7 & 13 are in there! I thought that is rather devilish, since many who have filed either:
    A) Dont own the home, & are renting and would not be selling
    B) 13's wont be likely to sell either!
So they just open you up to all kinds of investors knocking on your door I suppose. nice, like BR doesnt have enough stress.
You may all know this but it just really irked me! The names & personal info are not in there unless you join for a free trial, but the address is!

I went to the foreclosure.com website, WaM. I thought you'd like to know that not all BK's and Foreclosures are listed there.

Only 2 of the BK filings from the day we filed were listed at that website. There were 9 cases heard the day of our 341 and only the 2 were listed on that website.

I also went to where our house had been in Foreclosure. Our house was not listed there either.

So, even tho some people's info does get posted at that website, which is unfortunate, not everybody does get listed.

Hopefully, your BK won't be one that gets listed.

Curiousity got the best of me and I went to www.foreclose.com. My bankruptcy wasn't listed, but I was surprised at the number of bankruptcies in my neighborhood.

We have a neighbor, right around the corner from us. They filed BK and their Condo is in Foreclosure. I was surprised to see that.

            I wonder

WHY some are listed and some are not. My sisters friends BR is listed. There are about 10 pages from NJ! Three live within three miles of me, in HUGE Mcmansions.
One of them filed chapter 7!!!!!
Anyhow, the hud site isnt working. I still find this interesting. I wonder if it is only BR w/ forclosure? I would love to know.

              Thanks for those links

              VERY interesting.

Man there are alot of bankrupcies around here. I even looked in my old neighborhood and it is the same. Whats up with all these bk's? They keep saying the economy is great blah blah, but you can see that it is not. I sure hope the dems can do something with this mess!

You have to pay a fee to join to get that info.

                        Here's something creepy!

There's a BK filer listed there who's in foreclosure at the Foreclosure.com site. They live about a mile from us. Filed the same day as us. They were at the same 341 as us. Weird! We saw them. They saw us. We're practically neighbors and didn't even know it!

The other people I mentioned in the previous post are neighbors right around the corner from us. They filed a couple weeks after us and had their 341 on 10/26.

                        Is that wierd or what??!!

It really shouldn't be that surprising that several people have filed bankruptcy in the same small geographical area. Look at the places around where you live. Are they new, expensive, high-end homes? Probably not. I looked up a few zip codes in the metro area where I live. There are clusters of foreclosures and bankruptcies in the low-value neighborhoods. There are only a handful of foreclosures of high-end houses not at all close to each other.

Uhhhh, excuse me??!! Low rent neighborhood??!! I think not!!

We are currently living in a 4/5 BR, 3.5 Ba, 3000 sq ft condo. Our neighborhood is duplex condos. 2 units attached to each other in each building. Interesting architecture too. Not every unit is identical. We rent and our Landlord owns our building out right. Their company was one of the contractors that built this development.

The unit around the corner from us is smaller. It's a 3 BR, 3 Ba, 2000 sq ft, and the current asking price is $150K. The house in foreclosure a mile away is an acreage "estate" property and the asking price is near $300K.

While those might not be high prices for some areas of the country, this is most definitely a nice area here. There are some $500K to million dollar properties mixed in as well.

Bankruptcy and Foreclosure know no socio-economic boundaries.

I'm talking about statistical averages. Look at the median value of homes in a zip code. Is it above or below the median for the area?

I have no doubt that you'll find at least 1 high-value home in any given area.
