Excess payment

I have received my notice of final payment which shows a refund of excessive payment and i have signed my certificate of discharge so when will I actually receive the check for the money refunded

There's no one that can tell you except for the Chapter 13 Trustee serving in your case. Usually they issue the overpayment after they have verified that all the checks cleared by the creditors. I can't tell you how long that will take. I was in disagreement with my Trustee when they were holding over $11K with another $7K on the way because I needed to make my mortgage payment. My Trustee didn't like to "write two checks" for some reason. I was able to get an interim overpayment check and then the last check about 30 days later.

You can call their office an ask. Sometimes I think you can see if the check was issued by checking the National Data Center (NDC).
