In general. . .
The Trustee's job is to find and liquidate assets for the benefit of creditors if you filed a Chapter 7.
If you filed a Chapter 13 it is to collect Plan payments and then distribute the money according to the priority of creditors.
The Trustee relies on the accuracy of what you state in your Schedules. He/she may object to a proof of claim filed by a particular creditor if he/she thinks it was filed in error or has some deficiency. A Trustee does not attempt to verify what creditors you do or do not have.
