    Bankruptcy

My only income is SSA. I am listed on an aunt’s account as I am her only living relative. When the courts try to take her money?

With respect to bankruptcy, the bankruptcy trustee would want to make sure the funds in that joint account are sourced and you haven't put a single penny in that account. So long as you did not commingle funds, you would just list it on your Statement of Financial Affairs (SOFA).

Generally speaking, SSA funds are protected. I hope your SSA funds are not going into and being commingled with your aunt's funds. It just makes it more tricky to source the funds. The key is disclosing the other account and indicating that you are just a custodian and the funds in that account don't belong to you.

Hopefully you are filing through an attorney.
