Court Trial Just Ended - Bankruptcy Denial Case

We recently concluded a bench trial, which was held in person, without a jury. The trial was related to a bankruptcy denial case. At the end of the trial, the judge did not deliver a verdict. Instead, he announced that he would read the verdict after one week via Zoom.

Given these circumstances, I have a few questions:

    1. **Is it common for a judge to delay the delivery of a verdict in a bench trial for a week , and to do so via Zoom ?**

    2. **What are the possible reasons for the judge’s decision to delay the verdict?**

    3. **Can the emotional state of the plaintiff/ defendant and his family, who were visibly crying in court, have any impact on the judge's decision or timing?**

I appreciate your insights on this matter. Thank you for your time and assistance.

If there was a trial, it would be unusual for a judge to rule at the end of trial. Judges will take matters under advisement, review the admitted evidence, the testimony of the witnesses and the law. He/she will then enter a Memorandum Decision and a judgment. A decision can either be written or oral. Apparently the judge has decided to "read the decision into the record". There is nothing unusual about this process.
