Heloc after chapter 13 discharge

I am trying to get a HELOC. I filed chapter 13 on Dec.17th of 2017. My discharge was June 11 of 2023. I understand my bankruptcy will fall of my credit report on 12/17/24. I would like to know when would I be eligible for a HELOC.

A few comments:

• Your bankruptcy should fall off your credit reports in early November of 2024 as November is the 60th month since you filed.
• I believe you are able to apply for a HELOC right now, but there may be a few strings attached.
• Waiting until the public record drops off your credit reports may well yield greater opportunities for a HELOC with lower interest rates.
