Also if you use the Discover card and you listed it on your creditor list, even though you owe $0 now, adding debt to it now could be wiped out when your case is discharged. That could easily be interpreted as fraud, and you don't want to take even the slightest chance of that happening! Trustees and bk courts take fraud VERY seriously (fines and/or jail time....gulp!) You don't want to mess with the federal courts!
If I were you, I would find another way to fix your truck.Last edited by lrprn; 09-24-2006, 02:37 PM.I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.

Are you sure they haven't closed the card???
Have you actually attempted to use it?? I wouldn't be surprised if they've already shut it down unbeknownst to you. I think the previous post was right though, find another way to pay for the repairs. Always, better to be safe than sorry.
Besides, even if you could use the card, and you were going to make payments. Are you able to pay it if full or are you going to start the roller coaster all over again from the get go by not paying the balance in full every month.
I've learned my lesson. I will never hold a credit card again unless it's a secured card. I won't ever get myself into this predicament again...ever. I cut them all up 4 months ago, and even at that point I didn't know that I was headed down the road of BKR! The meer thought of ever having a real credit card again makes my ulcer act up even more the the BKR.
IMHO "" to credit cards ever again! We can plan our lives but we can never plan the outcome.

I remember reading on here when I first joined that that was a question the Trustee asked a filer at their 341 Meeting. "Have you destroyed all your Credit Cards?" That particular filer had. We thought that was not a bad idea, so we had quite a confettie party after that.
