It should be a pretty straightforward process, though going in may be better than doing it online. My rates with the cell phone companies were more favorable after filing because of increased cash flow etc. you should be able to get approved for a line and a phone. If not, go the prepaid route and pick up an refurbished phone on a site like backmarket.com

You just apply. The cellular companies will run your credit. I have never had a problem with getting a cellular contract while in bankruptcy. They've also allowed me to get phones on installment as well. It will mostly depend on your score.
