Trustees that also act as BK lawyers

I was going through searches and noticed an ad for a BK lawyer in my local area. For some reason the name and face stood out to me. They were advertising BK services.

Then later my google rabbit hole searches landed me on a list of all the trustees that server my area. There was this guy again, as one of the trustees.

In another search i found a pdf flyer of the 'trustee game night', where all the BK lawyers in the area can comingle with the trustees and judges. One big fun club.

So I asked myself, isnt this a conflict of interest? How can this guy be a trustee on monday, and a BK lawyer for a debtor on Friday? Seems too close to home to be playing the plaintiff and the defense isnt it?

Maybe im mistaken or maybe this is allowed and they are maximizing their earnings in their niche.

Not a conflict of interest. Chapter 7 trustees are pulled from a panel of attorneys and CPAs which have applied for and have become part of the United State Trustee's pool. What will really blow your mind is that many bankruptcy attorneys also represent creditors.

    See https://www.justice.gov/ust/private-trustee-information

    Chapter 7 (No Asset/Non-Consumer) Filed (Pro Se) 7/08 (converted from Chapter 13 - 2/10)
Status: (Auto) Discharged and Closed! 5/10
