Hi, it's been 6 years after my Chapter 7 discharge and I've been wondering will a name change will be updated on online records? I don't want someone googling my name to find out about my past bankruptcy without my permission (Social Security Number).

The bankruptcy court is not going to recognize a name change unless you tell it therefore, the documents originally filed with the court will remain under the name you used at the time you filed. Whether or not some non-court related public record/internet search would make the connection is anyone's guess.
