Stopped Paying City Water & Garbage Pickup Bill, What Will Happen?

Discharged from Chapter 7 in Jan 2011. Abandoned the house Jan 2013, after calling bank and informing them. They said they would have someone change the locks and maintain the house. LP was filed May 2012, and the last court entry was "filing of original deed" Jan 2013. Nothing since then. My question is: the City in which the house is located bills monthly for water, sewer, garbage pickup and stormwater charge. I have not paid them since January. We live in another state. What is the City likely to do, attempt to collect from me or file a lien against the property? Do I need to worry about it or let the eventual sale of the house cure the problem? Thanks

It depends on local law whether you are personally liable. Did you not ask the City to discontinue service? If not, you should do so now.
