I am at my wits end. My home was bought back by Wells Fargo at Foreclosure Auction in August, 2012. I received notice of ratified sale on November 7, 2012 Four months later, I am still listed as the property owner. The county clerks office states this is because the lawyer handling the purchase never filed the deed, and transfer of ownership can't happen until they do so. I have sent unanswered emails to the lawyer that handled it, regarding this matter, but nothing has changed. What else can I do? Does this mean my date of foreclosure won't start until it's filed, for a future mortgage? I live in Maryland. Thanks

i tried to locate the statue of limitations for the deed transfer, but sorry i had no luck. each state varies...for example our property is in nj and that has a 20 years statue to transfer a deed...where as the closes i could come with maryland was between 4-10 years...which is simply not clear.
this is really becoming a serious issue with many where the banks are foreclosing and not taking possession. it's like being stuck between a rock and hard place for certain. sorry, i'm not of more help, maybe someone will chime in that knows maryland's statue.8/4/2008 MAKE SURE AND VISIT Tobee's Blogs! http://www.bkforum.com/blog.php?32727-tobee43 and all are welcome to bk forum's Florida State Questions and Answers on BK http://www.bkforum.com/group.php?groupid=9
