Our home was foreclosed on Sept.6. Fannie Mae now owns it. As expected, we rec'd a note a couple of days afterward giving us our options. I called the real estate agent assigned to us and she gave me the rundown. Basically, if we agree to leave the home in broom swept condition and leave in 2 weeks, FM will give us $1,670....4 weeks, $835. She indicated that the ONLY flexibility was probably the time - we could probably stay 3 weeks and receive the higher amount. She did say the $$$$ amount was fixed in stone.
I realize that we've lived here rent free for several months. And, up until recently, I wasn't even aware we would receive a dime to leave. But, a friend who is a real estate agent, gave me much higher amounts that I would be offered, BUT, she does not deal with Fannie Mae.
So....should I ask for more? OR, be happy with what I can get? I don't want to appear greedy, but at this time in our lives, every penny is needed.
Oh, we're in Georgia. Non-judicial, no redemption period.
Thanks in advance.
