    I think that it's absolutely okay about signing the lease. And exactly - just don't move-out until you agreement for C4K is signed - $3,500 is a lot of $$ to turn down - it would make a great start to an emergency fund!! I am so happy for you!

      Hi---mzbunny26---for what it's worth---I had moved out and returned to meet the
      realtor representing the back---and we did a walk-through---to make sure that all
      was tidy and in compliance with the swept-clean agreement---and he was satisfied---
      and I signed for the check---gave a good address for the 1099---and went to my new place.

        I am in the middle of a C4Ks deal right now with REDC (on behalf of Bank of America). I am being offered $3,000 to be out in "30 days". But I was able to talk my asset manager in to a few extra weeks as my apartment will not be ready until early October. The BPO is happening tonight as the realtor is meeting me at 6:00 to look over the house. I am really excited to move on to the next phase of my life.

        And for anyone that is concerned about not qualifying for an apartment, I am moving into what is considered a semi-luxury building and other than showing them a copy of my discharge, I was approved with no problem. Even qualified for a reduced deposit. As so many have said, there is truly life after BK!!!
