Hi dustijane:
I moved your post from the middle of that old thread--which has heated up again--into a thread of it's own, because your question was lost within the middle of it.
Please clarify what you mean? Are you asking how to determine the value of the home itself? Or are you asking which household items are part of the 'real property' belonging to the house, or 'personal property' belonging solely to you? Are you asking how to value each item for your BK paperwork?Last edited by AngelinaCat; 08-15-2011, 05:10 AM."To go bravely forward is to invite a miracle."

Thanks =) And to clarify, yes, which household items are part of the property? My house had an old stove and we replaced it...I plan on taking my new one, and my washer, dryer, and refrigerator. I will not remove cabinets lol or sinks...but I would like my ceiling fans and such. We also bought an expensive showerhead that we would want to take. Do we need to replace it?

Yes, you will need to replace the shower-head. A simple cheap one from the hardware store will do. The appliances can be a problem. You may wish to find some inexpensive replacements on Craigslist or elsewhere. If the house did NOT come with the washer, dryer and refrigerator, you are probably safe. For the ceiling fans, a light fixture in their places will do. If you can manage some cheap fans that will be better. It all depends on how your home is described in the paperwork that is on file at your county Property Appraiser's Office. You need to go pull that paperwork and see what is there. Some districts go so far as to have a sketch of the home's footprint, a photo of the outside, and a list of any 'improvements' to the inside.
Good luck to you!"To go bravely forward is to invite a miracle."

Thanks so much...your reply is very helpful. I will have no problem as there was nothing in this house when we moved in except for the 30 year old stove lol. I do not believe there were any appliances or fans at all. I will definitely check into getting that paperwork though. Thanks again. =)
