Can foreclouser be delayed after ch.7?

We have approached our 1yr mark of no payments also 1year since we got served. The only communication we have gotten from the bank is them sending us modification papers.

Is it possible to file ch.7 now and still be able to stay in our house at least another year? Once Ch.7 is discharged can a lawyer fight the foreclosure to buy some more time? I really want to get the BK over with so that we can save money for our move.

as slowly as they are moving in florida in many places, it may be possible.

also, since florida is a judicial state, if and when you get served you can answer the summons and attempt to fight it via the court system. that would stall it for a bit.

most judges really don't like kicking people out in the street, and many of the judges are asking or requesting the banks to work with people. not all the time, mind you. but let's face it, at this point many banks would rather have you stay and take care of the place, so they may be willing to work with you for a bit.
