We have a renter in our home that we left over a year ago because of a job relocation. Our home sat for 4 months and a good friend (another realtor) of our realtor has been renting it for about 1/2 of the market value while he gets back on our feet, and he's paying us while taking great care of the property.
We got papers stating the sheriff sale would be in May, then it was postponed at the sale until June, now to July. Our renter now has an investor that want to purchase teh home as a short sale, or at the auction and we can't seem to do either one.
Because we are in an active 13, is there still a stay on our property. The rules are different for a 7 foreclosure than a 13 and our renter has even got his own attorney involved to see if we could move forward. Either way, we just need to move on. Our attorney advised us to let it go, but it will have been over 2 years since a payment was made on it and still no word. SO frustrating.
