Any updates on Onewest? I submitted my loan docs a month ago and am waiting to see what happens. The ch 13 is still rolling along as well.

Hi Helpme!
Funny you posted today, I haven't been on the boards in a few weeks and came back today to get updated.
Nothing from OneWest on our foreclosure status. Our case closed last month however and I was pleasantly surprised to see the final order from the BK judge included a denial of relief from stay by OWB. The denial was based on OWB's failure to prove they owned my mortgage....interesting. I have not heard a word from them so I wait it out and see what the next move is.
I am saving, saving, saving until the end so I can at least have some money to fall back on when we finally have to move.
I see the chapter 13 plan is holding them off...that's great..... any luck on a job yet?

The chapter 13 strategy was very effective as it is holding them off. I don't know if the loan mod will get approved or not, but we shall see.
I am finally starting to get interviews (had 2 last week). I don't think either one will pan out, but at least I am starting to see some results. The job search is frustrating and depressing, but I will keep on cranking until I land a job.
I know I still have a couple months minimum here and my next worry is my UI extension running out next month. So I am hoping I can land a job by then.
Life is a real mystery right now

Wow...maybe that is what is holding up my FC! It's been 10 months now since we modified our ch13 to surrender the house and virtually nothing from BOA. No relief of stay even done yet. In the news we've heard of the faulty docs when BOA bought out Countrywide and that is us and then throw in the ch13. Must be slowing things down immensely. Who knows how long before something gets rolling...Save $, Save $, Save$CH13 filed 5/21/09; 341 6/17/09; confirmed 7/14/09]

With the job market, you really never know when that job will finally arrive. I was sure I would have it by now. I even got 2 live interviews and a couple more phone/email interviews. So I am finally making some headway now.
I just need extra time in the house until I get employed, that way I will look much better to a renter to rent me a place. Right now, I have money for the rent, but I don't have the job.

helme2010 - completely understand about the job market situation. Since my husband got laid off (Oct 09), he is now on job #3 since then. Just like so many things in today's economy, there are quite a few sleazy employers and the first two were proof of that. He started job 3 just two weeks ago and so far so good but like my husband says, "they're still in the honeymoon phase" just yet but we're hopeful that this one will work out. It just stinks though that the hourly wage that is out there now is not enough to support a family on anymore. You definitely need more than once source of income. But I've been at my job over 7 1/2 years so at least that is stable (for now anyway). I really don't think we'll have much trouble renting when the time gets here since I have a relative in the rental property business.CH13 filed 5/21/09; 341 6/17/09; confirmed 7/14/09]

I can relate to the sleezy employers and have worked for quite a few of them. Many of them cheat and screw the customers and employees and I have a real problem with that.
I recently got a call from a company to line up an interview. I was so excited, then I looked them up on Google and found hundreds of customers labeling them a scam company. Basically this company calls up companies to offer them 30 free internet directory and they will place them on the front page of Google, yahoo, etc.
Turns out this company then starts an automatic monthly payment billed to these companies phone bills that goes on for many months and they refuse to refund. There are 300 complaints filed with the BBB and its a F rating. I also see attorney generals for various states listed in lawsuits and a batch of scam website boards listed about this company. So I didn't follow through with it.
It's tough to see a much lower wage being offered for employees, especially when the cost of living is so much higher now and is still rising. I may end up finding a lower paying job, but am wondering how will i be able to interview for higher paying jobs while still being employed with this job. How will I line up interviews that will work with the time schedule and traffic commutes in southern california? This is gonna be real interesting.

helpme2010: So many scam artists out there and it even makes it tougher in today's world economy. What part of SoCal are you from? I'm just curious as I lived in Poway area for about 9 years and then commuted every day to Coronado so I understand the commute thing for interviews. It's so frustrating with looking for jobs. When job 1 wasn't working out, my husband just quit it and it took about 3 weeks to find another one (job 2 that also didn't work out). He works in sales and alot of the jobs out there are commission only and when the employer doesn't pay you the agreed upon commission, well...things don't go so well. Best of luck to you in the job search!CH13 filed 5/21/09; 341 6/17/09; confirmed 7/14/09]
