    Just wonderful. NOT!

Today is our last day for objections, so hopefully just waiting for discharge soon. We quit paying on our home this month (Feb) and it will have it's first delinquent payment noted on the 17th.

We have been working towards this end and will be moving out of state in May.

As we live in Hawaii they use non judicial foreclosure for most of the foreclosures, and it seemed like things were moving fairly consistently with this process. But due to the fact that the state feels the mortgage companies have moved to fast without helping people, they just passed through the House, the first phase of a moratorium on non judicial foreclosures pending and new, for five months, all it is waiting for is the Senate to sign off and it will go into effect immediately, this takes it to July for waiting period, during which time they are working on more items for the non judicial including a 1 year moratorium on all non judicial foreclosures, while they get all the new stuff lined up.

I am really happy for those who wish to stay in their homes, but man does this mess with us. The banks are still able to do the judicial foreclosures, but that takes much longer. Oh well, just one more phase of this incredible journey.

I am looking into alternatives for insurance as the house will be vacant, and that is a bunch of fun as well. Probably will end up with no help on that end either and will just have to go with the lender placed insurance, lock everything up tight and have the neighbor mow the grass and check inside several times a week. And wait it out until who knows when.

Isn't it nice to know Hawaii will be the first state to put in place a moratorium on non judicial foreclosures.

Send a certified letter to the bank that you are cancelling insurance, no longer in the home, and to secure it.

    Good luck

I wanted to at least see if we could get liability on the place, just in case, but this is Hawaii and any insurance can be difficult enough to get on a good day. We are looking into it a bit more before totally giving up.

Already planned on doing the certified mail informing the bank as you suggested, will be calling them to give them a new mailing address the day we leave as well. Hopefully that will be enough, as I know the insurance company will notify them also that the insurance has been canceled due to vacancy.

I do know that we are leaving no matter what, all the plans are in place, and whatever will be will be and we'll just deal with it like we have everything else that has occurred in the last year.
