How to respond to first notice of foreclosure process?

I just received a copy of a complaint/summons indicating that my mortgage holder has started foreclosure proceedings. I haven't yet file bk but will by end of month. I need to respond to the notice prior to filing. I haven't hired an attorney yet but will this week. My question when you respond to the mortgagor's attorney and to the court does it have to be on any particular form or will just a business type letter suffice? Thanks.

I doubt you need to actually respond. Unless you were actually going to raise a defense to the foreclosure (e.g. you weren't really behind on payments), there is generally no need to respond. However, you should talk to a lawyer in your state that is familiar with the foreclosure process.
