    Forclosure and job loss

Just wanted to throw this out there.

If your home is forclosured upon from a high arm mortgage or other reasons and your job finds out. Can you be fired for having a home foreclosed?

The short official answer would be "no".

However, most of people today are "at will" employees and can be terminated with next to no explanation whatsoever.

    Good luck.
No person in their right mind files a Ch. 13 with lien strip pro se. I have. Therefore, please consider me insane and clinically certifiable when reading my posts, and DO NOT take them as legal advice of any kind.Thank you.

You cannot be fired specifically for filing BK or for financial issues such as a foreclosure unless there is a specific clause in an employment contract you signed which required you to inform your employer if you filed BK or were experiencing maybe severe financial issues causing foreclosure or nonpayment of bills/debt, and you did not inform your employer. Most employees do not have employment contracts with such clauses and, as indicated in the prior post, are at will employees which means that you can leave your employment for any reason and they can let you go for any reason. The only time there would be an issue is if you can prove you were let go for discrimination, i.e., race, religion, sex, or if you beieve you were let go in retaliation for reporting sexual harrassment, whistle blowing, etc.
