What if we want to move out of state?

We were going to stay in our home until husband lost his job last week. We have family in a different state, and our BK is due to be discharged any day.
We really are at the "forget it" point, and willing to walk away.

We plan to move many states away.. what problems should I expcet in the foreclosure process.. we will stay in the home as long as we can, hopefully at least until end of summer.

Foreclosure depends largely on what state you are located.
Each states laws are quite different and time frame varies widely.

That is the best state to live in if you are ever involved in a foreclosure. Seriously.

WI has the longest redemption period of any state; this is when the homeowner has the right to buy back the property after foreclosure. So until the clock has ticked all the time off the redemption meter you are still able to live right there in your house and still have full rights to do so, and there is no obligation to pay a penny for doing so. These are your rights as a homeowner. So once the lender starts their process, plan on moving about 15 months later, maybe more.
