Assignment of Mortgage?

I just saw that an Assignment of Mortgage was recorded with my local county tax office from my mortgage company. What does this mean? Does this mean they are actually moving forward with foreclosure proceedings?

Or does this type of thing happen a lot?

Most of the time that is the first step in the foreclosure process. Here in AZ you get the SUB/TRUSTEE NOTICE and the NOTICE OF TRUSTEE SALE around 90 days after missing your first payment.
